The saying is, "home is where the heart is".  That's true because generally, home is where we spend most of our time when we are not busy with other responsibilities which require our leaving.  And since work, school, and other activities keep us away often more than we wish, when we finally do get home, most of us want to love our environment there!

Cosmetic upgrades fall under the banner of "renovation" and generally include things like paint, floor covering, trim and moldings, new tile, new windows, updated lighting, possibly even updating kitchen or baths.  It could also include perhaps changing furnishings and maybe a new space plan for one room or all your rooms for that matter.
